The Purchasing Association of South Bend (PMA-SB) shall promote through education, monthly meetings and fellowship world class purchasing professionals. It shall encourage integrity in the field of Purchasing as well as the incorporation of the highest standards and practices into its membership's daily business interactions. Additionally, PMA-SB supports the National Association of Purchasing Management's purposes which are as follows:
  1. Develop sponsors, and promotes seminars, courses and educational programs.
  2. Encourages, supports and conducts purchasing and materials management research.
  3. Funds and operates scholarship/grant programs.
  4. Collects, disseminates and provides for the exchange of information of interest and value to purchasing and materials management practitioners.
  5. Publishes books, articles, periodicals and other educational and informational materials.
  6. Promotes the flow of knowledge and communications by interfacing with educational institutions, other organizations, business leadership and government officials.
  7. Provides a standard for excellence including principles, practices and ethical guidelines.
  8. Administers a certification program to maintain standards of competency.
  9. Provides quality services and support to NAPM affiliates, members and customers.
  10. Maintains a growing library of literature which covers the Purchasing field that is available to all members at each dinner meeting.
